When you shop, volunteer or donate at Amy’s Armoire you help children and families right here in Vermont. We try to fill the gaps that foster, adoptive, and kin families experience in an overstretched and underfunded system.
SHOP: You may not even need money!

Amy's Armoire is a thrift store in Barre, Vermont. Our prices are set for affordability. We're a non-profit with a mission; proceeds from the thrift store benefit foster children through individual and programmatic outreach. Nothing is over $5 in the shop!
Foster, and foster-adoptive families get clothes FREE for those kids at the foster closet. If you need access to the foster closet, let Amy know.
Amy's Armoire accepts DCF-Family Service vouchers for clothing from any district. Low income Vermonters can request a shopping voucher through your Economic Services workers. We also accept vouchers from Churches, Shelters, and Domestic Violence programs. We have a program to help kids who have aged out of foster care and are between 18-26; inquire for more info.
We're here to resource families with clothes and the connections they need.
DONATE CLOTHES

Rehome your unwanted clothes; keep them out of landfills and put them in others' armoires. We accept adult clothing up to size 3X, as well as maternity, baby & children's clothes, toys and books in great shape, any time the store is open.
We currently have a 2 bag limit.
IMPORTANT GUIDELINES
-
PLEASE-Never leave items outside the shop anywhere. If you can't donate during regular business hours contact us to arrange a drop-off time/location
-
Clothing should be clean and in wearable condition. If you've stored them a while in a garage, basement, storage unit, please rewash them before donating.
-
PLEASE-No household items, No bedding, No curtains, etc. only clothes, accessories, baby items, toys and children's books in great shape. We don't have space/time for items we can't use, so this hurts our business. Feel free to post these items on the fb group listed below as it goes directly to those who need it.
-
Furniture can be offered on our FB group "Friends Supporting Central Northwest Foster/adopt/kin families" and if you have bunk beds, twin frames, dressers, cribs (no recalls) etc. If no one in the group needs them at the moment, send me a pm as we may store those items for foster families as space allows.
-
We can only take 2 bags at a time.
Your donation is tax deductible. Please ask for a receipt. Donors determine the value of each item. Use 30% of the original cost as the value.
Financial donations allow us to lift up more families and children.
